Samara
Samara was originally a small and quiet fishing village, but nowadays the Samara has been visited by tourists. The reason that tourists come to the fishing village during their vacation in Costa Rica has to do with the fact that you will find several extensive white sand beaches near Samara. The island in the middle of the bay is certainly worth a visit, because here you will find a perfectly long sandy beach with shallow, calm and clear sea water.
Diving, snorkeling and dolphin spotting at Samara
In the middle of the bay of Samara is a beautiful coral reef. This reef cannot be reached by swimming from the beach, only by boat. If you want to admire the coral up close, you can organize a diving- or snorkeling tour, where you explore the underwater world of the area, including the special coral reef.
If you are lucky, you can also spot several dolphins during the boat trip. Many dolphins live in the sea around the fishing village, who like to show themselves to tourists on the boat.
The surroundings of Samara
Not only the beaches of Samara are worthwhile: the surroundings of the fishing village is also worthwhile. This is best explored by bicycle or on horseback, so you can experience the rugged nature of the area.. When you have seen enough of the nature of Samara, you can easily walk from the beach of Samara to the center of the town. In the center of Samara you can really get to know the authentic vibe of this village, for example by visiting small shops in the town and tasting local dishes in the lovely restaurants in the city.
